The Theory Test Explained
The theory test is made up of 2 parts. Part 1 is multiple choice question based. Part 2 is all about your awareness during driving which is called hazard perception.
You are given 50 questions with 4 possible answers to choose from. You are given approximately 57 minutes to answer the questions and you may also go back and check the answers before you decide to end the test. You must get at least 43 out of 50 to pass this section.
You are given 14 video clips of different situations that arise while you are out driving. Each clip lasts for approximately 30 seconds. In each clip there is at least 2 hazards. You must click as soon as you see the hazard and if it develops further you click again. You have a 5 second time limit to click on the hazard or you do not get a score. You must get 44 out of 75 to pass this section.
In order to attain your pass certificate you MUST pass both sections.
WHERE IS THE THEORY TEST CENTRE?
The Plymouth driving theory test centre is situated in the Plymouth City Centre near the Plymouth Guild Hall.
